Cocoa Village Mardi Gras is Almost Here

CocoaVillageMardiGras 2 Cocoa Village Mardi Gras is almost here and we’re so excited we can hardly wait. Buy your tickets in advance at one of our many convenient locations and save $5/ticket. Each ticket purchase includes event admission, the News Channel 13 Parade of Floats and the Soul Rebels Brass Band concert on the main stage immediately following the Parade of Floats. We’ll have tons of food and drink vendors, live music on three stages plus roaming “New Orleans” style entertainment. The gates open at 5pm so come out early, eat drink and listen to some great music. Then get your spot to catch some beads during the News Channel 13 Parade of Floats at 9pm. We’ll have over 30 floats with float riders throwing thousands of beads, doubloons, stuffed animals and more. If you’d rather purchase a “starter” set of beads, masks or feather boas we’ve got what you want. Check out our Cocoa Village Mardi Gras Merchandise and pick up your gear ahead of time. The Soul Rebels Live at Cocoa Mardi Gras

The Soul Rebels Live at 2013 Cocoa Mardi Gras Starting out as a local New Orleans favorite, The Soul Rebels have evolved into collaborating live with acts including Metallica, Green Day, Maceo Parker, Galactic, Slick Rick, Trombone Shorty, Suzanne Vega and David A. Stewart of the Eurythmics, as well as being billed on shows with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Alabama Shakes, Estelle, Cee Lo Green, Arcade Fire and others.



The Soul Rebels are an eight-piece New Orleans based brass ensemble that incorporate elements of soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock and pop music within a contemporary brass band framework. The band grew from their New Orleans brass style out of original members Lumar LeBlanc and Derrick Moss’s shared desire to play the music they heard on the radio but with respect to the New Orleans brass band tradition.The band consists of percussionists and founding members Lumar LeBlanc and Derrick Moss, trumpet players Julian Gosin and Marcus Hubbard, trombonists Corey Peyton and Paul Robertson, saxophonist Erion Williams, and sousaphonist Edward Lee Jr.

The band will be live at Cocoa Mardi Gras on Saturday, February 9th. They will go on stage at 10:00pm immediately after the News Channel 13 Parade of Floats.
